"Blogging attracts seniors
Many seniors are turning to blogs to discuss their hobbies or express their views. Blogs, or Weblogs, have mostly been the domain of younger generations. But seniors say blogging keeps them in touch with current events and helps them find new friends."

FAOL is a e-zine with a bulletin board as part of the sight. (To use the current, i hope, buzzwords.) This is the Bulletin Board part, the articles are the e-zine or Electronic-Magazine. Online articles supported by advertizing. Much like a hard-copy, but harder to take to the 'tile reading room.'

A Blog, is basically a space where you can use some space on a server to record your thoughts and add images and that sort of thing. If you visit www.blogspot.com[/url:41dbb] and poke around there is more info, and you can even set up your own. There are many other places to create them, that one I can think of off the top of my head. Usually there are editing tools to make it easier than building your own website, which is really what you are doing, just letting someone else host it and add advertising to get revenue off of hits to your site.

A blog is like an online journal. Many give readers the ability to leave you comments or messages.

For example- here's a link to my blog, hosted by xanga.com
http://www.xanga.com/OkieBass133[/url:ee76c]

PS- There's a pretty good entry from November 2nd Completely off-topic, but some might enjoy the read.

Duckster,

Blogs are "free" web space too. I use one as a fishing journal (well, ... I'll try to get it updated soon).

Easier to maintain and run than a simple web page.
