My advice is to keep the Yellow Perch that you catch. If you don't eat them give them to people that do eat them. Yellow Perch are very tasty. As you have found out, they are also prolific breeders. Some years back a bucket brigade introduced Yellow Perch into Holman Lake at Little Buffalo State Park. The lake already had a large panfish and bass population so the PFBC introduced Walleye and Tiger Muskie to help control the panfish. They also encouraged anglers to keep the perch, crappies and other large panfish they catch. The Walleye have all swum over the dam into the Juniata River but all other species, including trout, now thrive in the lake. The anglers have done a good job of maintaining the balance by keeping the prolific species that they catch.
