"I don't care if I catch any fish. I just love being out here."
(Usually quoted by someone not catching any fish.)
My question: "If you don't care if you catch any fish why tie on a fly?"
"Flyfishing is not a religion. You can make up your own rules as you go.".. Jim Hatch.. 2/27/'06
I read about a stream being stocked with a bunch of 2+ pound trout right before Eisenhower went to fish there and he caught none of 'em. It seems that they hadn't acclimated from the transplant shock. A few days later, the locals had a field day on that stream. The hatchery trout had settled in and gotten very hungry, since the nice man with the food pellets hadn't found them. I'm not sure, but I think that I read that many years ago in the book "The Philosphical Fisherman" by Harold F. Blaisdell. That book is a very good read.
