I have been toying with the idea of replacing my 2 pc. 7wt. with a 4 pc. But my search has come up empty with many rod makers. Seems it's mostly the top brands/models make that weight in a multi-piece rod--most skip right from 6 to 8, OR they have a 2pc 7wt.

So, is this a trend? I started with a 7 long ago, so the next logical weight lower was a 5. Then a 3, and then a 9 the other direction. I just can't justify buying a rod one weight off the ones I already own--too much overlap unless it's a drastically different length. Maybe going with evens would've worked out better (4,6,8...).

Just wondering why no 7wts...
