yup, evil dave caught it on a dry fly, pmd i think, with his one weight. he felt it was small by his standards and wanted to throw it back; i insisted we at least get a picture.

Gosh, that looks just like the one I threw back. I thought it too small to keep.

I dont want to break Your's and Evil Dave's hearts although I suppose that is a nice fish all right . The claim that it is the worlds largest freshwater fish is a bunch of hooy . Check out these pic of really big freshwater fish . Most of these were caught on a 1 wt Boo rod using sewing thread for a leader (to match the water color)

Catfish?...sturgeon?.........mere GUPPIES when compared to the mighty saltwater bluegill, a fish so large that if taken out of it's pond, the water level drops SO dramatically that the pond instantly becomes a veritable mudhole. This is why there are no published pictures of this astounding fish. We MUST save our pristine waters!

Jed when your right your right . It was too small . Only a pirate would keep it .

Saltwater bluegill in a pond! Was that pond the Atlantic or Pacific ? Catch enough of them and we could drive to Europe .
