Hey Folks,

It's been over a year since I posted a
prayer request for our God daughter Jessica.
She came to us at age 14, diagnosed with
bipolar disorder as well as several other
personality disorders. Your response was
heart warming and many still inquire about
her.

After a year, she had made much
progress and was able to return to school
and interact with others pretty well.
However, she was still in a very dark place
and had some pretty bizzare beliefs. We had
ensured that in addition to medical and
counseling treatments each week, she also
received spiritual counseling.

A month ago, we were feeling the stress
of the 24/7 interaction with Jessica and
asked a friend if she could take her for a
few days. The lady was the one who had been
providing spiritual counselling to Jessica
for nearly a year and they had established a
comfortable relationship.

Three days later, Jessica accepted
Christ. She returned to us a much changed
person. The darkness was gone and in it's
place was a radient young lady with a smile on her face and a quest for knowledge. She has finally opened up to us as well as her doctors about her problems and they feel significant progress has been made. A year ago, these same doctors told us that we
needed to resign ourselves to the fact that Jessica would eventually be a ward of the
state and that there was little that could be done to save her. These same doctors
are now working diligently to wean her from the potent meds she has been on and to
reassess her condition. Her primary
physician is amazed at what he sees and tells us that he is now very hopeful for
Jessica and that he can take little if any
credit for her changes. We have brought in another specialist to reassess her condition and regulate her meds. She is
hopeful of eventually doing away with all
of them.

As part of Jessica's initial support
team, you folks needed to know this. Please keep Jessica in your prayers. With
Gods help, and yours, we will win this one. Warmest regards, Jim
