    Default Does anyone work anyMore?

I spent yesterday on Rock Creek, This is the stream I grew up on, I fished with my dad and my son The Salmon flies were out and so was the word! At least half of the people that own a rod were there. I take some of the blame as I have sold more that a few rod and reels in my day and have been teaching folks to cast since the late 60's but I didn't know they all had the same day off! The up side is that everyone was having fun. My dad is 83 and has fished this river with a fly for over 70 years myself only 45 years. The fishing was as good as it has ever been even with the crowds. But I may have students sign a waver saying they work during the week. LOL

    Rich,

I am working on not having to work anymore so I can be out there with you on Thursdays.

I wasn't there yesterday. That place has become such a circus. I'll take any of the other rivers with a salmonfly hatch over the creek any day.

I had my best day of fishing ever on the creek with yellow streames in the fall. That's the time to do it to catch those monster browns up out of the Clark Fork. October caddis are cool too especially way up high where you can skitter them across glassy water and watch fish assault them.

I'm among that exalted group known as "Retirees" but frankly, I'm so damned busy now with all the stuff I'm into, I don't know how I ever found time to work back then.

It's nice to be able to fish during the week when the rest of y'all are busy helping the US Gov't pay my SS. Thank you very much.

"Work" , I remember that word but..... I have matured and as a general contractor, I have become more of a "general" than contractor. Lots more time now for piscatorial persuit and fishing too. There have been times where I approached a crowded stream and decided to go back to work though.
