    Hey Silvertop;
    So THAT's what Ceasar uttered to Brutus as he ( Brutus) was about to stab him. You know, it just goes to show ya, everyday you learn something new. And when you know it all, you graduate and DIE.

    Hey Gus,

    How is it going? Still hanging out around the Rogue?

    I use graphite rods myself. The 2 handed versions of bamboo are far more expensive then the graphite versions. I have cast a couple of bamboo spey rods and they don't measure up in my opinion but I know others that love them.

    Y'know Marco, I wasn't there at the time, but I heard that Ceasar actually said, "Dang, that knive is sure sharp, Brutus!". Twern't nothin said about "you ate too?" Ceasar didn't give a rat's behind whether Brutus had a full stomach or not y'know.

    Anyway, this thread started badly IMHO and this'll probably end it badly.

    Kerry,

    I no longer live there... Round Rock Texas is home now, after six years on the Rogue... It's a Job Thang.

    ...and I'll make concessions for graphite two handers, I guess, as long as my buddy Bob builds them for you. He's cheaper than those name brands and as you know, is the Zen Master of the big stick. He's finishing one for me as we speak, actually, a 5/6 switch that I'll line with a single hand 7wt line and will blow the lone star bass boys' minds.

    oh it started just fine.

    somewhere in between, red herrings (bait) were tossed into the mix, toes were stepped on, and words were misinterpreted.

    feuding is rarely productive. rational discussion frequently is.

    Gus,

    I have cast a few of your buddy's rods and they are nice. I have a good friend that had a big hand in the development of some new speys offered by Loomis. They cost a bit but they cast like a dream and I have found few that do the Skagit as well as the new Dredgers do so I will pony up the big bucks to own one.

    I hope you are comfortable in Texas and have found how to fish the big state to your satisfaction.

    ...still getting used to the fact that all of the fish are green.

    But having fun, nonetheless. BambooBass!
