I purchased an Orvis premium kit for $250 a couple of months ago. The kit came with a really nice 360 degree vice, some pretty nice 1/3 rooster capes, and a very nice instruction book. But all the other materials and tools were just average. I think I was expecting a little more then what I got.
One thing that disapointed me was that in the book, it explains how to tie several flies step-by-step. But there wasn't every thing you needed to tie those flies in the kit. Also my kit was missing the dubbing spinner that was specified in the catologe and the instruction book was defective. They were very prompt about replacing my book but it took them over a month to get the dubbing spinner to me.
All and all every thing thing turned out all right, and I have purchased several other things from them with out incident. Has any one else had this kind of problem?
