"Tyflier's" new tying station.

Here are a couple of shots of the tying station I made for FAOL member "tyflier". He wanted a "book holder" and also wanted it unfinished. He has plans for a special treatment before he finishes it himself. I guess it turned out pretty well. BTW, the book rack is removable for storage. Thanks for looking.

Glad you like it. More importantly, glad "the boss" likes it! Soon as I find a box that it will fit in, I'll get it ready to ship out to you!

Perhaps you would consider making 'kits' with assembling instructions? Seems as if it might be easier to ship and it doesn'tlook that complicated to put together. Just a thought.

I'm sure the station is not easy to create. Aside from the base and 6 posts, there are 5 parts: 2 arms, back post, back rest and back stop. It may be possible for Royce to pre-drill, prepare a schematic with directions for completion, and provide screws or dowels plus glue.

My point was that it would require a smaller package, be easier and possibly less expensive to ship, require less manufacturing time, allow people to finish somewhat easier and in whatever stain color they'd want, and possibly be more profitable.

In no way did I mean to lessen the value of Royce's work.

I did think about selling this as a "SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED" deal. However, after checking with UPS there would have been no difference in the cost to ship disassembled as assembled.

With the "book rack" removed and lying flat on the desk the station required a box 24" X 16" X 8".

Completely disassembled would require a box approx. 20" X 16" X 4". Since the weight would have been the same the cost to ship either box would have been the same. Thanks for the idea though.
