    Default Reel Info.?

the same people who gave me the bamboo fly rod, also gave me an automatic fly reel. I remember these from the 70's and remember destroying one by taking it apart to see how it worked.(that spring is really long). I remember these as kind of a novelty and not really functional. Only markings areH-I Utica NY. Any information anyone can share? Thanks R Howard PS Dang it's snowing again!

H.I = Horrocks and Ibbotson (sp) a trade name of mass produced bamboo flyrods. Mostly of lower quality. Some of there shorter rods like the Tonka Queen are nice casting rods though. As far as automatic reels, not much value there except they are kinda neet to play around with.

Thank you, I'm not looking for the Rembrandt in the closet. I'm just like knowing the origin of things. I'm going to post some pictures upon completion, because she may not be worth anything ,but she cleaned up real nice. Like JC said there may be only two places for this rod in the fireplac eor over it, but I hate just throwing stuff out. Thanks again. Robb Howard
