To All but especially Floridians! Pugar Gheen designed this MV Flat Deck Model Custom Gheenoe for me. It is my new skinny water poling skiff. Go to [url=http://www.kodakgallery.com/miamivisephotos:3d544]http://www.kodakgallery.com/miamivisephotos[/url:3d544]

That will be a fantastic boat for all the waterways in the backcountry down there ! With the built in jackplate-raised transom you're probably running in 9" of water or less; just enough to cover the prop & drafting 3-4 " ! If there was a folding backrest for these salty bones I'd have to take a test ride &/or fish & fish & fish !

    Hey Mike,

Great looking boat! I have a plain green Gheenoe that I bought in 1991. Is there a way to modify an existing boat like mine or does one need to purchase the boat modified from the factory? I have often thought about putting a front and back deck on mine but figured it would become rather heavy built out of plywood. Does the boat feel topheavy when you are standing on it? I also liked the platform on the back deck. Where did that come from?

    Regards,
    Keith

Dear Keith, you can mod your own boat but the factory will not do it for you. They are back logged for 16 weeks and no time for labor intensive mods. Your boat will get a lot heavier by reworking it. My boat weighs approx 180#'s. A standard Gheenoe Classic weighs 190#'s to start with. My boat is extremely stable and "not top heavy". The rear platform was designed by Pugar Gheen and me to set up this boat as I desired and for others to follow/use similarly.
