    Default Hyannisport

Got invited to spend a few days later this week at a friend's compound. Never fished this part of the cape before.

Any suggestions - both wading and yakking?

    Eponymous,

When are you going to be there? I will be just down the road from the 20th onwards.

I don't know shore spots near there, but we were passing by the Bishop and Clerk's ledge this past sunday, and there were atlantic bonito (Sarda Sarda) busting all over. A small skiff and a fly or casting rod is very likley to get you a couple or more.

Just a bit further east are the Monomoy flats, one of the prime striper sight-fishing destinations in the country. It should be a 1/2 hr ride to the Ryders' Cove ferry, which will take you over to the islands. [url=http://www.monomoyislandferry.com/:a3327]http://www.monomoyislandferry.com/[/url:a3327] If you like crystal-clear sand flats with lots of 'techincal' stripers, that's place to go. Try it for at least a day.

JME - sorry to say I am there on the 18th and 19th. Would have been good to hook up.

Josko - I love to fish for bones. Do you think I could access that with the Yak or is it too far/unsafe?

Would also love to hit MM flats but have only limited clearance from "the tower".

When are you going to have time to fish?
Won't you be playing touch football, drinking and chasing skirts?

Let the ahh word go forth from this time and place. We ahh fish not because it is easy but because it is hahd (and because you can drink at the same time).

You can certainly access Monomoy with a kayak. Show up early because parking can be an issue later in the day, especially on weekends.

I would not go out to Bishop and Clerk's reef in a kayak, though.
