Redfish and moon phase
My fresh water fishing buddy and I are trying to plan a trip to the salt to fly fish
for Redfish near Corpus Christi. I have fished the area once before and had amazing luck for a newbe to salt. Naturally because there are two of us we are having scheduling problems.
My question is do Redfish so glut themselves at night during the last 10 days of month(during a full moon) so as to make it more difficult to catch them?
No! Reds in shallow water are there to feed and usually will eat just about anything you put in front of them. Tide is more important than the moon, but the two are tied (pun intended) together. A strong tide really gets the fish feeding...

I can't say too much about flyfishing for reds because I just started to learn to flyfish; but I have fished for reds using a baitcaster. I fish around the Galveston area, and have fished in Rockport/Corpus Christi area as well, and just like Acuna says, Tide is most important. I like movement in the tide...either coming in or going out...coming high is normally best. As info only, my sources tell me that San Antonio bay as well as Baffin Bay are HOT for Reds right now.
