Thread: 2X long nymph hook

  1. #1

    Default 2X long nymph hook

Does anyone know of a 2X long nymph hook with a curved shaft? One of my favorite flies is a #14 or 16 emerging pupa that I tie on a 2X long hook and I think it would look better if the shaft were curved. I have 3X long curved hooks and scud hooks but I'm looking for something between those.
    THANKS

How about putting a bend in a Mustad 3906B? Hook is 2xl, heavy wire, with a sproat bend but you can gently take pliers to it.

Dai-Riki #280 - is 2xl slightly curved shank/standard wire/bronze/round bend. I'm not sure what you consider a "Nymph" hook --this one is called a 'Hopper' hook, but i've used it for whatever I felt looked good tied on that particular style.
