Howdy Dave,
I agree with Reuel on the Flies.
I will also say Loooong leaders. The fish get to see a lot of flies and are flyline shy. Light tippets too. 6X & 7X.
Most of the locals use a indicator to watch very close. Set on anything, Zen the rest.
Dale's Blue Ribbon fly shop on Hwy 5 in Mountain home is a good place to start.
On Hwy 62 just outside of Cotter is a new fly shop. River Crest or something like that. I have forgotten the name, sorry.
Great shop for about anything good fair prices too.
If you are staying at Bull Shoals Park the marina there can help you out. IF you stay at Quarry Dam Park just below the Norfork Dam you can cross hwy 5 and vist the Hatchery for the kids under 16 is Dry Run Creek GREAT big Rainbows and browns.
The Park at Little Red below the dam has some good fishing too.
At the old Swinging bridge is a new fly shop that will guide you the right way on the Little Red. Find Cow Shoals too. If the water starts at the dam make the run to cow and then swinging bridge.
If the horn sounds run out of the water. They only give you a few minutes warning. The water in these rives can raise 4 to 12 ft. It is no place to be standing makeing one more cast.
