    Default ready to get wet

I just finished all my tying and sorting for the first trip of the season, I'm leaving Saturday AM. My goal is to bring enough bugs that I don't need to buy any while I'm there.

That's impressive. Where are you going? Looks like good weather on Saturday in your area, but Winter hasn't lost its grip yet.

I was wondering the same thing about those boxes as well.

    kengore,

Assuming you can tie a fly on every 30 to 60 seconds I'd say you've got a good 10 hour day just tying the flies in that bottom left box on your line. That's just one box! Add all the others and I don't think you will have time to fish! Better leave some at home.

Very impressive. Have a great trip.

The big boxes are Plano boxes with the interior partitions removed using a hot knife attachment on my electric soldering iron. Plano makes a box without the interior partitions but I was unable to find it in my area.

I also have some similar boxes (slightly thicker & without any partitions) I found at Office Max.

I made the foam inserts from 6mm and 3mm craft foam. I needed to trim a base layer to fill in some molded depressions that are part of the box design. Then I cut full size pieces to fill both the lid and bottom. I made my own ripple foam by cutting grooves in the 6mm foam using a radial arm saw.

For my new boxes I took 6mm foam and applied 2 sided carpet tape to the back side, cut the foam into 1/4" wide strips and stuck it to sheets of heavy acetate. Similar to the dividers found in C&F boxes.

I think you need more eggs. I see a little empty space in the bottom left corner. LOL
