Thanks to Jack, I was inspired to try learning how to tie a caddis fly using punch yarn for the body. I'm fairly new to tying and this is my first attempt at a dry. Found a couple of patterns that use poly yarn for the wing. So, I used punch yarn for the body and poly yarn for the wing. What a great pattern for a beginner to try their hand at a dry fly. Thanks Jack for the inspiration.

Here's the "recipe" I've settled on for now:

Hook: standard dry, 12-18
Thread: black or to match body color; I use 70 denier Ultra
Body: punch yarn; tan, grey, olive or black
Wing: Poly yarn; white
