    Default Salt water tyers

I am playing with Marabou Blood Quills in olive and cream for some Bonefishing next week and was wondering the best way to tie so it will hold up.

    Using #4 and 6 3407DT Mustad

    Thanks for any suggustions

You are not saying the type of flies you are tying or how you are using the Marabou?

Without that it will be hard to advise you well. You can tie it in by the tip and wrap it on the hook then Back rib over it with 6# Mono or you can us a little Super Glue on the base and wrap the feather over the wet glue. Just not sure what flies you are tying and how you plan to tie them. Ron

RonMT,I am tying My style gotcha version, Using Sally Hanson over the head. The Marabou is tied at the ends, I am not palmering.

Meko Special, I used Quick decent dubbing on this one and the Cream Marabou

I normanlly use 5 minute Epoxy to finish my flies like those. Marabou is a fragile material and will break no matter what you do with it as far as tying it in goes. You have to live with that as it has great movement but breaks easy. What can ya do LOL Ron

Ron I agree with you on the life of the marabou. I will try to wash them off at night with fresh water also.

I really want to wear each one out on big bones and long runs. Appreciate your input

    Thanks
