Here is my October Caddis Pattern for the Selway/Locha.

Hook: TMC 200R, #4 - #10.
Thread: Black, 6/0.
Egg Cluster/Butt: Light Yellow yarn.
Abdomen. Rust dubbing
Thorax: Purple Dubbing
Wing: Grey Elk Hair.
Collar: Rust.
(I use a collar instead of ribbing, because I want the body in the water)

When I was there the October Caddis I saw were size #10. Watched them on the stream, the females hit the water hard, to shake loose the eggs. They then immediately lifted off the water and smashed down a little distance away. The fish will react to an sudden smashing of the fly on the water, and immediate pickup. Strange but true.
