After tying for almost 60 years I learned something new today!
I was tying a special pattern with a small spun deer hair head. The hair was spun very tight so it almost looked like cork. Now I've always had a problen trimming a very smooth head with the double edged razor blade that everyone recommends. Always ended up with small corners and little gouges. As I finished the trimming I happened to notice the strip of sandpaper that I keep near my bench to smooth my finger tips. Bingo! The light went on and I tried lightly sanding the deer hair. I worked like a charm. Never again will I have those ugly heads!
