The jassid was developed by Vince Marinaro, a Pennsylvanian. He was a brillaint, but irrascable fellow, and I had the privilege to fish with him a few times as a teenager and college student. He would have been furious that you thought his fly was from New England! You can read all about it in "A Modern Dry Fly Code" his angling classic, now in paperback. Jungle cock has become way more expensive than it was in Vince's day. You can find the necks on ebay, or in some flyshops, but prices are often in excess of $100, though you can tie a pretty large number of jassids from one neck. It is a great fly. Do a google search; there are several sites that have tying instructions.
