According to the Hatch Guide for New England Streams (Thomas Ames Jr.) which I HIGHLY recommend, the Blue Quill imitates the Iron Blue Dun (Paraleptophlebia adoptiva). The nymph is a tiny fork-gilled nymph imitated by a Sawyer PT nymph size 18. The nymph does NOT have a pronounced thorax, the legs are fine and the abdomen is a little fuzzy because of the gills. Greg, is that your site? If not, who's is it?
The site is the work of Jason Neuswanger who apparently attends Cornell. About a year ago he started showing his first pics on the VFS board and then started a website. I had not been there in a while, but it is starting to turn up on search engines. It must be a great project for him. Among his fav pics there are some others of the nymph you want and you can see why PT would be the material of choice. You can see more of the website by truncating the address I gave above or just going to Troutnut.com.
