I've been working on craneflies(Daddy Long Legs) for the past few years,
coming up with a pattern that floats well enough to fool a trout and gives a good impression is
tough business.
Well here's the latest creation, it's got a Wally Wing tied in reverse, I avoided a hackle tip wing cause they seem to meld when wet. I've seen many on the net, but all seemed bulky and very
unlikely to float well.
I avoided the extended body for floatability and just added a thick tail to give the impression of length, unfortunately it won't offer girth.
Four legs instead of six (hopefully trout math is as bad as mine).
The shot is from the bottom of the fly, same eye view as a fish I suppose.

Oh! Yeah!, I forgot, if you know of a good floating crane send me a pic or recipe, these also look good with a standard Wally wing spread out a touch kinda like a spent wing.
