So far, my best luck with 'gills, has been with the Black Widow, the Spider, the Alien, the Gurgle-Pop (black) and Wiggle Bug (also black). I've also done very well with the Baby Crawfish pattern, and the Chernobyl Ant. Other patterns that worked for me last year (when it was warmer) were the Easy Hopper (black) and Electrc Cricket. I have also caught them on scuds and San Juan Bow Worms. I have tied a fly of my own design I call the "Inchworm". It is merely a small diamter piece of chartruese chennille tied on a small scud hook with the head and tail extending beyond the hook. I will try it out this year.
