    Default Junglecock split nails

How do you repare these. I just got a cape. My brothers father-in-law e-mailed me a few days ago with the information that he had too much Jungle cock and wanted to know if I could use some. Well, since he told me that he only ties streamers and Bass bugs, I told him that I would take all the Jugle Cock he could spare.

I got a pkg in the mail one day this past week with a Jungle cock cape in it. It doen't look full, probably pick over about 50% or so, and most every nail has at least one split in it. Some nails have three or four or more splits. I'm not complaining, it was free!!

I do remember a post a long while ago about repairing these, but my computor won't perform a proper search for some reason, I keep getting 0 results for this.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, Yaf

Put a little head cement on one and pull it thru your fingers a couple times.

Try this out. On a flat wood board glue two flat toothpicks in a v, slightly open at the bottom. \/. Slide the nail down till it closes, then I use hard as nails to coat the nail. let dry. Be careful not to use to much hard as nails. You do not want the cock nail to stick to the board.

    Brain, You have mail...

Sport, I tried the head cement as Bill suggested last night and it worked well, left a gloss finsih.
I have Daves Flexcement and will try that also.

    Thanks Yaf.

I guess on a fishing fly, it doesn't matter if the nail is all stuck together on both sides but for a display fly, that is completely unacceptable by any standard. Thin cements will too easily penetrate through from the back onto the good side and ruin the nail. The hot glue as I outlined it, will not and is much stronger than the other options.
