Default CDC - Best place to purchase

I am very interested in trying to tie flies with CDC. However, I have come across such a variety of costs and quality of CDC
feathers and it has been difficult to choose the best economical solution. If anyone has a recommendation for a particular supplier, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance for any advice.

I can't help you with where to buy some as all of my supply of CDC comes from ducks & geese I shoot. If you send me your mailing address I'll send you a free package to experiment with.

First of all, let me be the first to say welcome aboard. On the CDC question, my best advice would be Hook & Hackle. They sell CDC in individual colors as well as a nice combination pack as well. In all the packs I've bought from them I've never had a problem with poor quality. As an added bonus, they're a sponsor here too.

    Dear RGP,

Rene Harrop's Trout Hunter CDC is probably the best you can ever get.

troutflies.com, one of FAOL sponsors, carries Harrop CDC. Try it and you will never use any other CDC.

I to get all of mine from Rene Harrop. I use a lot of it and buy the large bags in white. I dye my own colors so I can get the right shade's. So I to agree that Rene is the person to get it from. Ron

Thanks for all the great advice. I really look forward to incorporating CDC into some of my favorite flies this spring.

    Thanks.
