Anyone know how George Grant is doing? He has to be in his mid 90's. I have always admired his flies and cherish the two collector books I have of his.

The Winter 2004 issue of Fly Tyer magazine had a major article on George Grant. He is 97 years old now and can no longer tie flies or fish. You can get a copy from flyfishingmagazines.com.
RAW,
I have a Bozeman based friend who recently visited with him. George is doing fabulous, taking his age into account.
Cheers,
Hans W

RAW --
George Grant is 98 and living in Butte, MT. He can't tie flies any longer, but my last report was that he was doing well, all things considered. The folks at Fran Johnson's (nice George Grant fly display in their store if you haven't been in there) in Butte could give you more information if wanted, and some of the folks at the Butte visitor's center (with a very nice fly exhibit of George's flies, as well as some other Montana tiers) can tell you how he is doing.
That said, I think George Grant would appreciate your woven flies as well.
cea,
Please accept my apologies for getting Mr. Grant's age wrong. Just passed along what was in the magazine article. Shouldn't have done that.
Thanks for the current info.
Fly fishing, fly tying and good clean Montana air must be good for a person. Wow! 98.
