Recently I purchased some ceramic bobbins from FAOL member...Badger...it was a good exchange and I might add he has a web site and sells furled leaders.

I'm not here to push him but would like to recognize him...the reason I post is this...

I noted on looking closely at the junction of the metal with the ceramic there was quite a bit of variation bobbin to bobbin...some not as rounded as I thought they should be ...so I looked at my older same brand bobbins and they were the same....So

I used a small belt sander I have and very gingerly [and easily]using a cloth belt..... rounded the metal down so the ceramic is what the thread encounters.

I bring this up as a hint and wonder if any of you think it makes one bit of difference???
Jack Dennis in one of his videos makes the point that he thinks the Thompson ceramic bobbins make all the difference in making paraschute posts because you can hold the bobbin horizontal.

What say you???
