    Default Dubbing Wax

Does any one know of a good solvent for dubbing wax? I had Grandchildren home over Christmas who discovered the joys of making things stick. Thank you ( and my wife thanks you ) in advance.

I made some dubbing wax and the resultant mess looked beyond hope. I saw some Goof Off -The Ultimate Goo Remover at the hardware store and decided to give it a try. It did an unbelievable job of cleaning up that mess and was suprisingly gentle.

You can try Skin So Soft by Avon

Skin so soft would be my first choice.

The second would be baby oil.

Make sure the objects that you are cleaning do not stain, test the objects before cleaning.

Have a fun time cleaning up!

    Thumbs up Dubbing wax

The most universally suitable solvent would be Naptha (AKA lighter fluid).
Small containers of it can be bought as "Ronsonol".
It's a very handy solvent that will never harm any plastic and is great for removing sticky label price tags that are so popular.

I have also used Goo Gone. It works very well on Christmas tree pitch as well.

    Default Grandchildren or dubbing wax?

    Hi Cardinal,

You have just given me another reason to avoid dubbing wax altogether. Nasty stuff! I never replaced my tube of that goop when it dried up several years ago and haven't missed it since. Now, I have one less reason to fear my grandchildren! 8T
