Default Fun reading on Steve Rajeff's prowess

    Friends:

Go to this site and read how Steve Rajeff launched a golf ball farther that 333 yards with a fishing rod. Fun reading:

Also, on his personal website are two great tips on "When to apply the power in the casting stroke". Click the tips button.

    Migs,

The tips you referred to are by Tim, Steve's brother. Both are superb casters in their own right, but their respective casting styles are way different

    Cheers,

    Friends:

In Steve's website there is a ton of information on casting for distance. It is definitely worth the visit. He also has video clips of various casting masters demonstrating their stuff:

I have an old video of a show called Fly Fishing Journal. The host was Joe Humphreys and one show featured Steve Rajeff. What impressed me the most was not the distance casting but the smooth effortless perfect casting technique he exhibited in normal trout fishing situations. I also got to view an old fishing film from the fifties which featured tournament caster Ben Hardesty. His casting style was very fluid and beautiful to watch, even on an old Wonderod.

I have never been into the distance casting / tournament thing but these guys develop their technique to the point of perfection. Amazing stuff.
