It was the late Mike Verduin of the Dallas Fly Fishers who taught me to tie woven bodied flies. Mike's "Woven Woolly" is known to most fly tyers here in Texas. The weaving technique that Mike taught me turned out to be the same "Granny Weave" that Al Campbell illustrated in one of his tutorials here on FAOL.

I later employed that weave in the development of my "Granny Bug" series.

Teaching that weaving technique to others has given me great pleasure and it has been the result of Mike's and Al's contributions to my fly tying.
