    Default Sink tip line

I am just about done with my 10.5 ft 3 wt.

I think I want to put a sink tip line on this.
What is your favorite if you use these?

It would alos depend on what types of water you fish. Fast moving streams call for a fast sink while lakes and slow water can handle slower sink rates.

My favorite is to make myself an interchangeable sink-tip line with loops similar to a Rio Windcutter versitip. Then you can just change out the loops. For a 3-wt, I would think an intermediate and a type 2 would be good for fishing lakes or perhaps spring creeks. The only problem is you will have a hard time getting cheap sink-tip sections buy purchasing shooting heads. I guess you could try 10-ft sink tips and use the end of a 5 or 6-wt shooting head, depending upon how many grains they weigh. If you're interested let me know I can fill you in on how to make a versitip-type line.

Good luck whatever way you go,

    -John
