My favorite is to make myself an interchangeable sink-tip line with loops similar to a Rio Windcutter versitip. Then you can just change out the loops. For a 3-wt, I would think an intermediate and a type 2 would be good for fishing lakes or perhaps spring creeks. The only problem is you will have a hard time getting cheap sink-tip sections buy purchasing shooting heads. I guess you could try 10-ft sink tips and use the end of a 5 or 6-wt shooting head, depending upon how many grains they weigh.
