    Default Foam & Wing Cutters

Has anyone used the wing and/or foam body cutters offered by River Roads Creations? If so, how do you like them and were they worth purchasing for how much you use them? Which cutters are most useful for you?

Thanks. I am considering buying a few.

As the Queen of toys ... I have a set of caddis, a set of mayflies, and the chernobal. They're great! Only caution; they're also VERY sharp, so only use them on the special rubber block, and be bery careful in handling them. How often do I use them? Every time I tye wings.

The stonefly wing cutters are great and I assume the others would be too

    Betty,

I've been considering getting a May Fly set, but I've been put off by the picture that RRC uses on its website.

The way the wing is tied in seem to make it necessary to tie the hackle entirely in front of the wing - which I find unappealing aesthetically (although I'm sure the fish don't care).

Is this picture accurate? Must the wing be tied in this way?

    Thanks,

    Steven

    Steven,
I tie the wings in the "regular" way, with some hackle behind and some in front. Never seemed to pose any problem.
