Send me an e-mail, jrupp@watermc.com, with a list of your destinations, length of stay, and what time you will be there. I should be able to give you a list of exactly what flies to tie/bring.
If you are looking for general patterns, here are my favorites:
Salmon:
Hareball leech pink, purple, black sz. 2/0
Bjorn's super prawn various colors sz. 2/0
PF salmon sz. 1/0
Alaskabou various colors sz. 2/0
Egg sucking leech #2/0
Trout:
cotton candy #6 peachy king
Flesh fly, #2, #6 ginger, white
Glo-bug #8 peachy king, champagne, clown
Wool head sculpin #4, black, olive
Lead-eye wooley bugger, #4, olive/black combo
Egg sucking leech #4
Deer-hair mouse #4
Grayling
Parachute #14, lt cahill, adams
Nymphs, RFST, hare's ear, zug bug
wooley bugger, black, #8
Dolley varden/arctic char
Thunder creek special #6
Polar shrip #8
Bomber #6, orange
The patterns are simple and on the web I can send photos of ones you're having a hard time finding.

Don,
I would highly recommend "Fly Patterns of Alaska" by the Alaska Flyfishers. It's available through Amato Publications.
cheers,
Mike
