    Default EZ Bug Yarn?

    Hello,

Have you ever used this new body material called EZ Bug Yarn? Mike Mercer uses this a lot for his Rag Hex Nymph and Rag Sculpin. This material was discovered by Hugh Beglin who introduced Estaz into the fly tying world. Especially, I wonder whether EZ Bug Yarn can be purchased from a craft store.

If Mike is using it, I wonder if the Redding Fly Shop carries it. Why spend $20 trying to save $2?

Much of this type of thing can be found in craft stores for less money. I've seen this stuff in BJ Moores with half a dozen different colors on a card. Now it's a tying material.

I always get a kick out of some "new" tying material that hits the market when I have been using it for years while purchasing it in a craft store.

I guess if I were very smart, I'd buy it in bulk and repackage it like the "fly material" distributors do.

I agree Gary. I also get a real chuckle, when a lot of these materials I've found in craft shops & I have used for years shows up as a new material. I even laugh harder when
they start claiming certain tying techniques
that I have also used for years as new !!!!
What a way to make a lot of money. Go to a craft store (ie. Michaels), buy the stuff in bulk, repackage it, slap your name on it, & charge 3 times the price.
