Got out for nearly 3 hours Sunday afternoon.* Caught 20 Goldfish and 15 Koi.

Those Goldfish & Koi look in better shape (and better coloration) than the Bowfin you caught. The Bowfin had some pretty beat up tails. Were you checking that one Bowfin's mouth to see if he had his tonsils removed? Dennis

I don't know why, but it seems pretty common with Bowfin, that they get chewed up tales. Could be turtles...but I have a feeling other Bowfin are the more likely culprits. Its a Dog(fish)-eat-Dog(fish) world out there! (Uh...Bowfin have a number of nicknames....Dogfish being one of them.)I didn't check the tonsils... that's a good idea! I just wanted to show off the excellent results that a little fluorocarbon flossing can have on Bowfin dental health. LOL
