David,
You are right. It's illegal to own Snipe in the U.S. unless you shoot it yourself legally.

Then what's the best snipe alternative?

I've always used starling for my snipe and purple. It's supposed to be very close to snipe in size and color. Looks like I'll need to sharpen up my marksmanship!

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.
Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.

EEEEOOOWWW!!! Does this mean that I'm going to jail? I checked last year and could not find any laws regarding ownership of snipe skins or wings. I also checked with the P.O. Dept as regards the shipping. All I can remember right now is that it is ok as long as they were taken legally from the state they came from.
The first real snipe feathers I obtained were bought at the Sommerset show a number of years ago. I don't think that a feather merchant would risk fines if it were not legal. But...HELP you Philladelphia Lawyers!
Ol' Bill
O.K. then is this a Urban Myth started by Feather-Craft or what?
Where is the Legal Team?!!!!
Bill,
The Hackle Police are coming to take you away! He He Ha Ha
Take Care,
