Okay, here's the deal. From the recommendations of FAOL Team Norvise:
    Norvise w/ small jaws: $255
    Fine point conversion: $85
    Norvise Travel System: $85
    Norvise Shipping: $14
    Ekich Bobbin and Shipping: $84
Total is $523. Hmmm. I think JC and Deanna are gonna have to double what they pay me for the articles I write. Yeh, that will do it, 0 X 2 = ... Hmm, this higher math has got me stumped.
Thanks all for the help. Definately sounds like the setup I'm gonna get. Might have to wait a couple of months to do it.

    Flytyer37,

Other than the small jaws -- I would first like to know how well it spins with those, I would say that is my ideal dream setup. To use a tired expression -- SWEET!

Well, I emailed Ronn Lucas and here is his recommendation:
Get one with the fine point jaws (he ties #28 to 7/0 with them) and larger rear hub to counterbalance those jaws. A travel system and shipping. Total is not too outrageous (my wiff has a $2K sewing machine for her quilting so she believes I should get what will serve me best for the long haul). I'm still torn between the norvise bobbin and the Ekich.
    Yeah, sweet!

    No-Brainer, Frank,

Once you have tried both, you will not want to let loose of the Ekich. It makes perfect sense.

    Ft,
We would probably try an Ekich if we did not already have three Nor bobbins. The "E" sounds super convenient. Whatever your choice, you DO need an auto bobbin....especially for rotary stuff.

If you plan on using waxed monocord the Nor Bobbin will plug up every other fly. I'd for sure get the Ekich bobbin.
If any one is sold on the Nor-Vise and has a Dyna King Professional collecting dust that they wanna get rid of I'm interested in it.

    Hi guys,

First off I'd like to say I have the fine point jaws and it works very well. It does have a lot of rotational force and wants to move but BFD, I still spin it like crazy. I use the travel system exclusively so my vice is mounted to the board and sits on my tying table. But here is some news... Norm has developed a new arm for these jaws with a more acute angle so it's a lot smoother. I tried it out and noticed a big difference. Norm will take care of you too, at no cost to yourself if you need anything repaired/replaced or even slightly customized. I had him make my fine point conversion even finer and he took care of it all for no cost and he doesn' mind if you call him.
Auto bobbin, get one, you'll never ever go back to a standard if you can figure it out. Personally, I don't know how you cannot figure it out as it's very simple. Pull the bobbin for more thread, lift the bobbin up to shorten the thread.... let it go, it stays right where it is... if you want to put tension on you thread to tighten the wraps well, then you just use your little finger to tension the spool and pull.... Watch the video that comes with the vice and you'll be good to go. I will admit, I had doubts when I first got my vice, but once you learn how to use it correctly and get it to spin the hook on it's horizontal axis, it's just downright nasty!!!
