    Default Puterbaugh Foam Caddis (variation)







    It would also make a passable spruce moth.

    hook - WFC Model 3 #10
    thread - Uni 8/0 tan
    body - Congo Hair tan (twisted/wrapped)
    underwing - 2mm foam tan
    wing - bleached elk
    thorax - Ice Dub tan
    shoulder - sharptail grouse
    hackle - light ginger

    Scott,
    The Puterbaugh caddis is one of my favorite caddis dry flies. I tie them in black, tan, and olive. I really like your addition of the Congo Hair body and am going to add that to my next ties.
