We had a downpour rain in the morning. I fished early afternoon and the creek was fast and muddy. Should have turned and left, but I fished anyway.
Caught 4 fish.
Gar were in the clearest water around.

Caught one.


Caught a Sauger!

Conditions changed again. Now the creek is 12' above normal! Deeper water, muddy, fish spread out. I'm looking forward to the creek returning to normal.
Caught 2 gar.


Then visited 2 new-to-me lakes. Got skunked at one, caught a bass and bluegills at the other.


More rain after I got home, and more in the forecast.

Haven't checked out the forums in a long time. I thought that you were in IA? Probably been gone for years and like I said haven't been around in a while. Always enjoyed your grass carp adventures. Haven't chased carp yet this year, I should get out and give them the business. Hope all is well.

Hello, Clay! Yes, I moved from Iowa to Missouri just about a year ago. Still learning the fishing down here. I look forward to seeing some new carp posts from you!
