Dubbing Pick

I made one of these for my tying bench and it turned out to be so incredibly useful that I made several others. Just sharing this for other crafty people if they want to add a really handy tool to their tying arsenal.

They look beautiful! I’d venture to guess, however, that there aren’t too many of us that are so “crafty” as you that could make those dubbing picks, or certainly not as nice looking as yours.

What is on the opposite end from the needle? Are those magnets?

I love finely figured wood, and I’d have to say that your burled maple pick is my favorite.

Thanks for your kind words. The end oposite of the needle is simply a cap. That said, I could add a seam ripper to that end which come in very handy for cutting thread in tight spots. You are spot on with your choice of the the Big Leaf Maple burl. It is really beautiful. That said, it sold in about 10 minutes.
