Originally started as an opportunity to use a new (to me) color of flat braid; then the piece of dyed pronghorn caught my attention and I ended up here. The spun ungulate butts provide a thorax with built-in floatation.

thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tag - single strand floss flame/resin
tail - deer hair
rib - small wire gold
abdomen - Orvis Flat Braid pheasant tail
body hackle - brown (undersize by 1)
wing - deer hair
thorax/hackle - pronghorn dyed brown (1 Tbs Rit Golden Yellow, 1/4 Tsp Rit Dark Brown/1 cup water), loop dubbed
