Getting away from Harry Murray?s original intention for this fly - a Quill Gordon imitation (sorta), but it?s a good foundation to play with. Tried it with natural deer hair and wasn?t thrilled with the results so I tried a few different dyed pieces; this shade was what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I?ve been doing some experimenting and didn?t keep good notes on the mixture; pretty sure these amounts are correct. Also, this was a piece of tan pronghorn, not white, so the color is a a bit darker; I left it in the dye bath for about an hour.
