How is it done? Especially seen on the more complex salmon patters where numerous materials need to be tied in at the head of the fly. The buildup (even when minimum turns) are made the thread slopes drasticly twords the eye. How do you keep the thread from slipping down the slope as you progress twords the eye.

There must be a trick. Sometimes everything goes well but most of the time it seems to take forever to get the thread to lay down and stay put.
