After getting skunked at the Meramec River, I went back to the creek I've had some success at recently. It was really slow there, too. Where I'd seen a lot of gar and grass carp the previous weeks, the water was still reasonably clear, but the fish just weren't near the surface. So, I didn't catch as many, but caught quite a few species. 10, as it turned out...which I think is a new one-day record for me.
I caught White Bass, Largemouth Bass, Bluegills, Redear Sunfish, Longear Sunfish, Hybrid Sunfish, Channel Catfish, Shortnose Gar, Grass Carp, and foul-hooked a Silver Carp. Did not expect the Redear or Longear to be here, so that was a nice surprise. Nothing was very big...I did have a decent grassie hooked that shook free, and missed a couple other takes, I think.
