Borrowed portions of the tying sequence (mainly the back end) for this H&L Variant modification from Charlie Craven’s GTH Variant. How he tied a split calf body hair wing and tail with 10/0 Gudebrod is beyond me; truly impressive. P&B? - pronghorn and Bullwinkle; I can not tie nice looking bodies with stripped peacock herl so I subbed moose.

thread - Uni 6/0 brown
tag - medium tinsel opal
tail - pronghorn hair white
body - moose mane; one light/one dark
collar - peacock herl
wing - pronghorn hair white
hackle - grizzly/brown
Part 1
Mash barb/start thread at 2/3 mark; wrap partway down the bend
Tie in tinsel, brush thread with a little Super Glue and wrap to point above point; tie off/trim
Clean,stack,measure (a bit shorter than shank length) a clump of pronghorn; tie in, take a couple of gathering wraps at the base of the tail, then cover with thread wraps to 2/3 mark
Select 2 moose mane fibers; trim tips/tie in
Wrap moose fibers together to 2/3 mark, keeping a slight counterclockwise twist to keep them from separating; tie off/trim, brush with Sally
Tie in some peacock herl at 1/2 mark; wrap to 2/3, tie off/trim
