I started a salmon fly and haven't got the right winging materials for it. If I passed it off to one of you, could you finish it? You could keep it, fish it, whatever.
Kind of like a progressive dinner. Wicked sharp, eh?

flyangler,
That's a very interesting concept. I hope you don't mind if I do some piggy-backing on that idea. I'm going to place the following on the 'SWAP' page.
How about a 'swap' of sorts where:
1) A person picks a somewhat complicated salmon fly.
2) The number of steps are identified and listed.
3) People sign up to do one step (however they don't know what that step will be) of tying the fly.
4) Each person signing up gets a number, picked at random by the swapmaster.
5) The fly is started by number 1, is mailed to the person doing step #2, and so on until the fly is complete. It is then mailed to the swapmaster. Each person participating will include $2.00 when he mails the fly to the next tyer. That money will pay for #6.
6) The completed fly will be photographed and each participant will get an 8 x 10 color photo of the fly.
7) The fly, and all attending information, will be sent to JC as a submission for FOTW.
Let me hear if anyone is interested in this idea.
Allan
That's a really neat idea! May be the wrong time of the year for it, but what the hey, it does rain. *S*

Flyangler,
What is the winging material needed for the fly?

Tye- Very interesting idea. Not stupid either (for all you Laugh-In fans).
JC and LF- carry on.
biot- it's supposed to have married wings but my cheap *ss dyed goose or turkey or whatever isn't long enough. I'm just not into it enough to invest in good wings right now. We're too busy fishing and replacing the flies we need to catch more of 'em! But I hate seeing it un-done.
Can I mail it to you? Even if it's cruddy you could fish with it.
Flyangler,
I probably don't have the correct winging materials either. Have you thought about making it a hair-wing version instead?

Curses! Foiled again.
Allan,
That is a nifty swap idea. I'd add a signature card along with the photo that has all particpants dated sigs!
I've never tied a Salmon fly-so count me out on the swap.
RL
flymaker2, you need to check out the swap forum. Read the entire thread for MULTI TYER FLY SWAP. You might change your tune(I did), and spots are open. Sounds like good fun.
-BY the way, the sig card is a great idea! I'll post it there w/ credit to you in case you don't make it.

Will no one take this fly?
