use one barb off of a body feather on a size 18 to 22 hook. Black thread head makes a nice midge under a popper for gills.

Borchers Special:
hook: dry fly hook size 8-16
tail: three long moose mane hairs
body: pheasant tail or turkey wing fibers wrapped over tapered underbody of thread or kapock
wings: Pale dun hackle tips
Hackle: mixed brown and grizzly

developed by Au Sable guide Ernie Borchers in the late 1800's and still effective today.

Jim,

Thats actually a fly I would like to have in my box but do not have recipe. Ive been fishing the PM this year more than usual so MI patterns would be nice.
